Full Moon In Arnhem Land

Yesterday was insanely hectic again. I didn’t stop frantically running around all day – well, up till about four o’clock, anyway. The moon was full at twenty past two yesterday afternoon, and its passing pretty much corresponded with my stress levels.

The moon was in Taurus – whatever that means. And it was in just about exactly the same position in the sky as the sun was when i was born (i.e., conjunct my natal sun, for the astro-nerds), for what that’s worth… ;-)

I still had plenty of stuff kicking around the house when i woke up at about five o’clock that morning. :-? I packed all my clothes, etc, into the two bags they arrived there in. And i put a bit of washing on, which i hung out to dry before i went to work.

Of course, there were still plenty of loose ends needing to be tied up at work. Not a vast amount, i’m pleased to say, but a few. So i had to spend a bit of time dealing with those. I also had to finish packing at home. Yes, believe it or not, there was still some things that hadn’t been packed! ;-?

In the end, i had 4 more boxes of stuff :-( – which i couldn’t really take on the plane with me. Well, as it turned out, i probably could have done, because they had a Brasilia plane on that flight, which was much bigger than the usual little thing they run to Maningrida. But, anyway, i didn’t know that at the time.

I ended up leaving those four boxes there and a guy i work with said he’ll bring them into town when he drives in on Wednesday. I’ll be in Brisbane by the time that stuff gets to Darwin, but i’ll be back in two or three weeks, so i can put them into the storage shed when i get back. In the meantime, they can stay at Rohan and Liza’s place, i guess.

I gave most of  my kitchen stuff to Mel, who i was working with, as i couldn’t be bothered packing it and she needs it and you can’t get china plates and bowls and decent cutlery in Maningrida. I figured i can buy some more plates when i next have a home. But, of course, i’ll probably end up living somewhere where there’s no shops again, and not have plates, cups, cutlery, etc! :-?

Anyway, i got everything sorted out in plenty of time to check in at the airport at four o’clock – ready for the five o’clock flight. :-)

The Brasilia plane was cool. It had heaps more room – you could stand up without stooping! And they give you drinks and snacks during the flight – which is a bit of a change from the other plane. I don’t know if they’re likely to be running it regularly, or if that was just a once off, but i’m glad i got to fly on it before i left. :-)

For the last few days, i’d been beginning to wonder if i was doing the right thing by leaving. I hardly seemed to have been there any time at all. And things had improved at work since i gave my notice. There’s also a new operations manager who seems like he’s going to make things a lot different.

The job i was doing is still crap, of course, but chances are, with this new guy, i could probably shift into something much more pleasant and interesting. There would still be the dogs and the claustrophobia to deal with, of course – but maybe it would be easier to handle when i wasn’t doing the worst job in town…

Before i left, he told me i could always come back.. Hmmm…. I wonder if i will. :?:
